| Description | Catalyzes the hydrolysis of GTP bound to the 40S ribosomal initiation complex (40S.mRNA.Met-tRNA[F].eIF-2.GTP) with the subsequent joining of a 60S ribosomal subunit resulting in the release of eIF-2 and the guanine nucleotide. The subsequent joining of a 60S ribosomal subunit results in the formation of a functional 80S initiation complex (80S.mRNA.Met-tRNA[F). Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-431 from human EIF5, fused to His-SUMO-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~65.2kD AA Sequence: MSVNVNRSVSDQFYRYKMPRLIAKVEGKGNGIKTVIVNMVDVAKALNRPPTYPTKYFGCELGAQTQFDVKNDRYIVNGSHEANKLQDMLDGFIKKFVLCPECENPETDLHVNPKKQTIGNSCKACGYRGMLDTHHKLCTFILKNPPENSDSGTGKKEKEKKNRKGKDKENGSVSSSETPPPPPPPNEINPPPHTMEEEEDDDWGEDTTEEAQRRRMDEISDHAKVLTLSDDLERTIEERVNILFDFVKKKKEEGVIDSSDKEIVAEAERLDVKAMGPLVLTEVLFNEKIREQIKKYRRHFLRFCHNNKKAQRYLLHGLECVVAMHQAQLISKIPHILKEMYDADLLEEEVIISWSEKASKKYVSKELAKEIRVKAEPFIKWLKEAEEESSGGEEEDEDENIEVVYSKAASVPKVETVKSDNKDDDIDIDAI Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
