| Description | A 19aa peptide sequence near the C-terminus of rat UT2 was selected for antibody production. This peptide is predicted to be cytoplasmic (1). Urea is the major end product of nitrogen metabolism and it is concentrated up to four times higher than that of plasma. A rapid, passive transport of urea through the membranes of the IMCD is responsible for generation of high urea concentration in the inner medullary interstitium. Recently, a vasopressin-sensitive urea transporter (UT2; 397aa) from rabbit and its homolog from rat (rUT2; 397aa) have been cloned. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA or blocking experiments with Cat. # U2013-05 and U2013-05A. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 5-10ug peptide per 1ug of Cat. # U2013-05. 5-10ug peptide per 1ul of Cat. # U2013-05A. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
