Description			Rat NGAL, so called because it is the ortholog of human neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), is also called lipocalin-2, 25-kD alpha 2-microglubin-related protein or neurelated lipocalin. It is expressed by neutrophils and various epithelial cells, including cells tubular cells of the kidney. It is involved in physiological processes such as the binding of siderophore iron and tissue growth and regeneration. It is up-regulated in a variety of pathological situations including infection, inflammation, renal injury and certain adenocarcinomas. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to full length amino acid sequence of rat NGAL, produced without any tags expressed in E.coli. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
