Description Vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein 4B, also known as VPS4B, belongs to the AAA (ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities) family. It is involved in late steps of the endosomal multivesicular bodies (MVB) pathway and recognizes membrane-associated ESCRT-III assemblies and catalyzes their disassembly, possibly in combination with membrane fission. Dominant negative mutant of VPS4B inhibit vacuolar protein sorting and also arrest HIV-1 and MLV budding. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-444 from human VPS4B, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~51.8kD (468aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
