Description Proteins of the TFF family are characterized by having at least 1 copy of the trefoil motif, a 40aa domain that contains 3 conserved disulfides. Trefoil Factors are stable secretory proteins expressed in gastrointestinal mucosa which protect the mucosa from insults, stabilize the mucus layer and affect healing of the epithelium. TFF3 induces ciliogenesis and promotes airway epithelial ciliated cell differentiation, through an EGFR-dependent pathway. TFF-3 is normally expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma and its overexpression is crucial for progression in mouse and human hepatocellular carcinogenesis. TFF-3 human recombinant produced in E.Coli is a homodimeric, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2x59aa chains which includes a 40aa trefoil motif containing 3 conserved disulfide bonds. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human TFF3, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~13.2kD Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human MCF-7 cells using a concentration 1-10ng/ml. AA Sequence: EEYVGLSANQ CAVPAKDRVD CGYPHVTPKE CNNRGCCFDS RIPGVPWCFK PLQEAECTF Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
