| Description | The Trefoil Factor peptides (TFF1, TFF2 and TFF3) are expressed in the gastrointestinal tract, and appear to play an important role in intestinal mucosal defense and repair. TFF2 has been shown to inhibit gastrointestinal motility and gastric acid secretion. Recent data suggests a potential role for TFF2 in acute and chronic asthma. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human Trefoil Factor 2, a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 106aa, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~12kD (106aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human monocytes using a concentration range of 1-10ug/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >100IU/mg. Endotoxin: <1EU/ug (LAL) AA Sequence: EKPSPCQCSR LSPHNRTNCG FPGITSDQCF DNGCCFDSSV TGVPWCFHPL PKQESDQCVM EVSDRRNCGY PGISPEECAS RKCCFSNFIF EVPWCFFPKS VEDCHY Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O, 0.1% BSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
