| Description | Found in the gastrointestinal tract, the three Trefoil proteins, TFF1, 2, and 3 have been shown to play an important role in intestinal mucosal defense and repair. Specifically, TFF2 has been shown to inhibit gastrointestinal motility and secretion of the gastric acid. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human TFF2 expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~12.3kD Biological Activity: The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of immortalized human pancreatic cells, and was found to be <5ng/mL. Endotoxin: <1EU/ug (LAL) Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
