Description KiSS-1 metastasis-suppressor (KISS1) is a metastasis suppressor gene that suppresses metastases of melanomas and breast carcinomas without affecting tumorigenicity. The metastasis suppressor properties may be mediated in part by cell cycle arrest and induction of apoptosis in malignant cells. Expression of KiSS1 has been localized to specific regions of the hypothalamus in many species and is regulated by gonadal steroids and across the estrous cycle. Recombinant KISS1 protein was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-120 from human KiSS-1, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~12.6kD (MALDI-TOF) (Molecular weight on SDS-PAGE will appear higher) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
