Description Tyrosine Kinase Receptor B (TrkB) is a high affinity receptor for brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and neurotrophin-4/5. It also binds neurotrophin 3 (NT-3) with lower affinity. TrkB does not bind nerve growth factor (NGF). TrkB is involved in the development and/or maintenance of the nervous system and is widely expressed, predominantly in nervous tissue. TrkB is a heavily glycosylated type I transmembrane protein. The TrkB-Fc chimera contains 13 potential N-linked glycosylation sites. Source: TrkB-Fc Chimera, from human DNA sequence encoding the signal peptide and extracellular domain of human TrkB aa1-428 was fused to the Fc region of human IgG1 aa93-330. The chimeric protein was expressed in modified human 293 cells. Molecular Weight: ~90kD-115kD (SDS-PAGE) with post-transational modifications and ~71kD unmodified Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
