| Description | Ubiquitin-conjugating Enzyme E2, J2 (UBE2J2) is a 259 amino acid (aa) member of the Ubiquitin-conjugating (E2) enzyme family with a predicted molecular weight of ~29kD. The human protein shares 100% aa sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs. UBE2J2 has an E2 catalytic core domain with an active site cysteine residue that is required for the formation of a thioester bond with Ubiquitin. This enzyme has been reported to be involved in the ER-associated degradation pathway. UBE2J2 has also been shown to interact with the mK3 Ubiquitin ligase (E3) and promote the ubiquitination of hydroxylated residues on major histocompatibility complex class I heavy chains. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human UBE2J2 Isoform 1, fused to 6-his tag at N-terminal. Molecular Weight: ~26.3kD Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||
