| Description | Ubiquitin-conjugating Enzyme E2 Q1 (UBE2Q1) is a widely expressed, 422 amino acid (aa) member of the Ubiquitin-conjugating (E2) enzyme family with a predicted molecular weight of ~42.5kD. The human protein shares 99% aa sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs. UBE2Q1 has an RWD domain and an E2 catalytic core domain, the latter of which is required for the formation of a thioester bond with Ubiquitin. UBE2Q1 has been reported to regulate the internalization of the cell surface protein, GalT1. Female UBE2Q1-deficient mice produce litters with increased embryonic lethality and have decreased implantation capacity of homozygous mutant embryos, suggesting that UBE2Q1 is important for female fertility. Additionally, UBE2Q1 mRNA and protein expression levels are increased in breast cancer samples compared to non-cancerous breast tissue samples, suggesting that UBE2Q1 may play a role in cancer. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human UBE2Q1 Isoform 2, fused to 6-his tag at N-terminal. Molecular Weight: ~29.3kD Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||
