Description HERC5 is a member of the HERC family of ubiquitin ligases. It is a protein with a HECT domain and five RCC1 repeats. The protein localizes to the cytoplasm and perinuclear region and functions as an interferon-induced E3 protein ligase that mediates ISGylation of protein targets. HERC5 gene lies in a cluster of HERC family genes on chromosome 4. It has been shown to exhibit antiviral activity towards HIV-1, influenza A virus and human papillomavirus. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa681-1024 from human HERC5, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~43kD (367aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
