Description UBE2D2 (UbcH5b) is an E2 (ubiquitin conjugating enzyme) that is involved in the conjugation of ubiquitin to target substrates along with E1 and E3 enzymes. The UbcH5 family (including UbcH5a and UbcH5c, 88% and 89% sequence identity with UbcH5b, respectively) are the human homologues of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae UBC4/5 family (~79% sequence identity). Members of the UbcH5 family have been implicated in a number of inflammatory and cancer pathways, including the ubiquitylation of p53 (involving the E3 ligase Hdm2) and IkBa (involving the E3 ligase SCF). Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human UBE2D2, fused to His-tag. Molecular Weight: ~17.72kD with His Tag Biological Activity: Protein concentration of 100nM-1uM is recommended for in vitro conjugation. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
