Description GTPase tethering membranes through formation of trans-homooligomers and mediating homotypic fusion of endoplasmic reticulum membranes. Functions in endoplasmic reticulum tubular network biogenesis (PMID:27619977). May also regulate Golgi biogenesis. May regulate axonal development.
