| Description | Specially prepared to be low in protein content but highly polymerized. Suitable as a substrate for deoxyribonuclease. This DNA is an excellent substrate for DNase. A sodium salt, it must be converted by adding magnesium ions to be susceptible to DNase. • Low protein and RNA content • Characterized by a high polymerization factor Source: Calf thymus isolated by the method established by Marmur. Form: Supplied as a highly purified dried powder Hyperchromicity: ≥27% Absorbance Ratio (A260/A280): ≥1.8 Recommended Storage Buffer: 10mM Tris-HCl. pH 8 containing 1mM EDTA (TE Buffer) Quality Control: SDS-PAGE Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C. Stable for 12 months at 4°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
