Description Deoxyribonucleic acid, sodium salt from salmon sperm is a non-specific DNA blocking agent used to reduce background in nucleic acid hybridization. Additionally, it has been used to develop a method used to extract DNA from Cryptosporidium oocysts. It may be used as a substrate for the development of DNA detection methods. Synonyms: Deoxyribonucleic acid sodium salt from salmon sperm CAS No: 9007-49-2 Appearance: Supplied as a yellowish brown amorphous powder Purity: ≥90% (Assay, UV/STS Method) Elemental Analysis (dry basis): Phosphorous (Total): ≥8% Nitrogen: ≤12% Infrared Spectrum: Conforms to reference Protein Determination Assay: ≤1% (qual/biuret reaction) Loss on Drying: ≤8% Heavy Metals: ≤0.002% Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at 4°C.
