Description | Human immunodeficiency virus type-1 (HIV-1) regulatory Trans-Acting Transcription factor (TAT) plays an essential role in viral replication and infectivity. In addition, during acute infection, Tat is released extracellularly by infected cells and is taken up by neighboring cells where it transactivates viral replication and increases virus infectivity. Recombinant HIV-I TAT is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 86 amino acids encoded by two exons and having chain having a molecular mass of 14kD. Specificity: Reacts with anti-Tat (HIV-1) antibodies from human, monkey, rabbit and mouse serum. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile dH2O, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
