Description Gene cloned from Macrophage-cell-tropic HIV-1 YU2 strain and the full length (membrane anchor truncation) recombinant envelope gp160 glycoprotein produced in the Baculovirus Expression System. Specificity: This protein binds to murine monoclonal antibodies of defined epitope specificity and HIV-1 converted human serum polyclonal antibodies in ELISA and Western ELISA. Biological Activity: This protein binds to human T-cell receptor CD4 in ELISA and Western ELISA as determined by CD4/gp160/Anti gp160 mAb-peroxidase capture ELISA. Cell activation Assays pending. Applications: Suitable for use in human diagnostics, CD4 binding, drug screening, human T-cell CD4 receptor binding and co-receptor binding studies. Other applications not tested Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 10-100ng ELISA: yields titers of 1:1000 or greater at 10-100ng of immobilized protein under standard ELISA conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
