Description | Candida albicans is a diploid fungus (a form of yeast) and a causal agent of opportunistic oral and genital infections in humans. Systemic fungal infections (fungemias) have emerged as important causes of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients (e.g., AIDS, cancer chemotherapy, organ or bone marrow transplantation). C. albicans biofilms readily form on the surface of implantable medical devices. Source: C. albicans Biohazard: No intact C. albicans present Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Specific for detection of antibodies G, M and A to C. albicans. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: For long-term storage, store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
