Description | Glycosylated recombinant ecto-domain of HSV-1 gD (aa21-339 from KOS strain) representing the external domain of the gD molecule without membrane spanning and cytosolic sequences. It encodes a protein of approximately 30kD that contains 3 sites for glycosylation. Contains a 6-histidine fusion partner. The yeast system adds a mannose core oligosaccharide to N-linked motifs. Glycosylation is heterogeneous and results in several immunoreactive products greater than 40kD on Western Blots. The doublet band at approximately 28 and 30kD is not believed to be glycosylated. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. pH: As Reported Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
