Description | Recombinant ecto-domain of HIV-1 gp41 (aa541-682 from strain HxB2). Contains a 6 histidine fusion partner. Reacts with HIV-1 positive human sera and monoclonal antibodies specific for conformational and linear epitopes as determined by Western blot. Three major immunospecific bands migrating between 20 and 30kD, minor bands between 20 and 30kD and at ~14 and ~7kD, and an aggregation smear at ~35kD and greater. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: HIV positive sera at 1:2000 with 0.1ml/well gp41. Background with BSA or normal sera OD405 <0.1 alkaline phosphatase substrate for 45 min. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Source: Pichia pastoris Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. |
