Description The parasite Plasmodium vivax is the most frequent and widely distributed cause of benign, but recurring (tertian), malaria. It is one of four species of parasite that commonly cause malaria infection in humans. It is less virulent than Plasmodium falciparum, the deadliest of the four, and seldom fatal. P. vivax is passed on by the female Anopheles mosquito, since it is the only gender that bites. Source: E. coli.-expressed recombinant protein corresponding to 108-amino acid Plasmodium vivax MSP-1 protein (malaria MSP-1, pv) fused to truncated maltose binding protein (MBP) Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
