Description | Coronavirus is an enveloped virus containing three outer structural proteins, namely the membrane (M), envelope (E), and spike (S) proteins. Spike (S)-glycoprotein of the virus interacts with a cellular receptor and mediates membrane fusion to allow viral entry into susceptible target cells. Accordingly, S-protein plays an important role in virus infection cycle and is the primary target of neutralizing antibodies. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to the N-terminus SARS Associated Coronavirus Envelope, aa1-76, expressed in E. coli. Specificity: Immunoreactive with sera of SARS-infected individuals. Molecular Weight: ~43kD Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and as an Antigen for detection. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
