Description Zika virus is a member of genus Flavivirus. It is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. The same Aedes mosquitoes are also the carrier and the transmitter of dengue virus. Aedes mosquitoes distribute in tropical and subtropical regions throughout the world. As of Jan 2016, there are over 1.6 million Zika virus infection case reports from South America, but it is estimated that there are over 5 million people with Zika virus infection in Brazil due to unknown infection. Over five thousand new babies have been born with microcephaly. In the infected adults, Zika disease may develop neurologic damage with the symptoms of Guillain–Barré syndrome. Protein Structure: Zika virus envelope protein is partially derived from zika envelope without the hydrophobic region. Zika IgG/IgM lateral flow rapid test showed no crossreaction with dengue IgG or IgM. The design of this protein is specially used for the development of rapid test product or ELISA test. A 6x histidine tag is attached to its C-terminal. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoassays and Rapid Test. Other applications not tested. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
