Description The causative agent of Syphilis is a bacterium: Treponema pallidum. The immune responses to T. pallidum are primarily mediated by the following membrane lipoproteins: TpN47, TpN17, TpN15 and TmpA. TpN47 is highly immunogenic and activates endothelial cells, while TpN17 and TpN15 induce antibody responses. In independent studies, TmpA is the most frequently identified antigen (95%) while the remaining are recognised with the following prevalence: TpN47, 92.5%; TpN17, 89.5%; and TpN15, 67.5%. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to Syphilis TpN17 expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~16.4kD Activity: Binds Syphilis antibodies Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Lateral Flow. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
