Description | Botulinum toxin acts by inhibiting neurotransmitter release. It binds to peripheral neuronal synapses, is internalized and moves by retrograde transport up the axon into the spinal cord where it can move between postsynaptic and presynaptic neurons. It inhibits neurotransmitter release by acting as a zinc endopeptidase that cleaves the '76-Gln-|-Phe-77' bond of synaptobrevin-2. Source: Partial recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-427 from Clostridium botulinum botB, fused to 6His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in yeast. Molecular Weight: ~51.34kD AA Sequence: MPVTINNFNYNDPIDNNNIIMMEPPFARGTGRYYKAFKITDRIWIIPERYTFGYKPEDFNKSSGIFNRDVCEYYDPDYLNTNDKKNIFLQTMIKLFNRIKSKPLGEKLLEMIINGIPYLGDRRVPLEEFNTNIASVTVNKLISNPGEVERKKGIFANLIIFGPGPVLNENETIDIGIQNHFASREGFGGIMQMKFCPEYVSVFNNVQENKGASIFNRRGYFSDPALILMHELIHVLHGLYGIKVDDLPIVPNEKKFFMQSTDAIQAEELYTFGGQDPSIITPSTDKSIYDKVLQNFRGIVDRLNKVLVCISDPNININIYKNKFKDKYKFVEDSEGKYSIDVESFDKLYKSLMFGFTETNIAENYKIKTRASYFSDSLPPVKIKNLLDNEIYTIEEGFNISDKDMEKEYRGQNKAINKQAYEEISKE Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
