Description | Initiates virion attachment to host B-lymphocyte cell, leading to virus entry. Acts by binding to host CR2 at the surface of B-lymphocytes, facilitating the binding of viral glycoprotein gp42 to HLA class II molecules. Attachment triggers virion-host membrane fusion and invasion of the host cell. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-493 from Epstein-Barr Virus Envelope Glycoprotein, fused to His-SUMO-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~68.5kD AA Sequence: MEAALLVCQYTIQSLIHLTGEDPGFFNVEIPEFPFYPTCNVCTADVNVTINFDVGGKKHQLDLDFGQLTPHTKAVYQPRGAFGGSENATNLFLLELLGAGELALTMRSKKLPINVTTGEEQQVSLESVDVYFQDVFGTMWCHHAEMQNPVYLIPETVPYIKWDNCNSTNITAVVRAQGLDVTLPLSLPTSAQDSNFSVKTEMLGNEIDIECIMEDGEISQVLPGDNKFNITCSGYESHVPSGGILTSTSPVATPIPGTGYAYSLRLTPRPVSRFLGNNSILYVFYSGNGPKASGGDYCIQSNIVFSDEIPASQDMPTNTTDITYVGDNATYSVPMVTSEDANSPNVTVTAFWAWPNNTETDFKCKWTLTSGTPSGCENISGAFASNRTFDITVSGLGTAPKTLIITRTATNATTTTHKVIFSKAPESTTTSPTLNTTGFADPNTTTGLPSSTHVPTNLTAPASTGPTVSTADVTSPTPAGTTSGASPVTPSPS Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
