Description This preparation contains more than 90% virus specific protein. The predominant form of the antigen is whole virions suspended in NTE with sucrose. The preparation is free of detergent. Residual non-viral protein comes from host tissue and culture medium. Source: Highly purified (>99%) 125kD protein from P3H3 cells chronically infected with EBV. Applications: Suitable for use in a variety of immunoassay formats including micro well ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Inactivation: Detergent inactivation by lysis. Detergent treatment of P3H3 cells disrupts cellular and viral membranes and consequently renders the material non-infectious. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
