Description H3N2-HA1, also known as hemagglutinin antigen, is a subtype of viruses that causes influenza (flu). H3N2 Viruses can infect birds and mammals. In birds, humans, and pigs, the virus has mutated into many strains. It is increasingly abundant in seasonal influenza. This protein binds to sialic acid receptors on the cell surface, allowing viral particles to attach to cells. It plays an important role in host range restriction and toxicity determination, and mediates the penetration of virus into the cytoplasm by mediating the fusion of endosomal membrane and membrane. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa18-344 from Influenza A Virus (H3N2, canine), fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in Insect Cell.
