Description Group A Streptococcus (group A strep) is a bacterium that can cause many different infections, including strep throat, scarlet fever, impetigo, and others. The bacteria live in the nose and throat. When someone who is infected coughs or sneezes, the bacteria travel in small droplets of water called respiratory droplets. One of the ways you can get sick is if you breathe in those droplets or if you touch something that has the droplets on it and then touch your mouth, nose, or eyes. Source: Streptococcus Group A clinical strain from coproculture. Applications: Suitable for use as a positive control in Lateral Flow assays. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Inactivation: Binary Ethylenimine + Formaldehyde Inactivation. Confirmed by absence of colonies after 72 hours. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
