Description | Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions, from carcinogenesis to novel cancer biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. The KLK-6 enzyme is regulated by steroid hormones. In tissue culture, the enzyme has been found to generate amyloidogenic fragments from the amyloid precursor protein, suggesting a potential for involvement in Alzheimer's disease. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa15-244 from mature human Kallikrein-6, fused to 6x His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot as a control. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
