| Description | TACE (TNF-alpha converting enzyme, ADAM17) is a membrane-bound Metalloprotease from the ADAM (a disintegrin and Metalloprotease) family of proteins. It cleaves 26kD type II membrane-bound precursor of TNF-a into 17kD mature form which is secreted. TACE is also known to process other membrane proteins including TNF receptor, TGF-alpha and amyloid protein precursor. Recombinant active untagged TACE amino acid sequence is from Arg215 to Asn651. The apparent molecular weight is bigger than the calculated MW due to the protein posttranslational modification in eukaryotic system. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human TACE, expressed in Insect cells. Molecular Weight: ~62kD Biological Activity: Tested using the synthetic peptide, Abz-Leu-Ala-Gln-Ala-Val-Arg-Ser-Ser-Ser-Arg-Dpa(Dnp)-NH2, as a substrate. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
