| Description | VAMP2, also known as vehicle-associated membrane protein 2 isoform 1, which is an integral membrane protein localized to the cytoplasmic surface of synaptic vesicle, consists of a proline-rich N-terminal region, a highly conserved hydrophilic domain, followed by a transmembrane anchor and a C-terminal. VAMP2 is predominantly expressed in Langerhans islets and glomerular cells. The N-terminal domain of the protein forms a specific SNARE complex with the target membrane-associated t- or Q-SNAREs syntaxin 1 and SNAP-25. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-94 from human VAMP2 protein, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~12.8kD (118aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF AA Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSHMSATAA TAPPAAPAGE GGPPAPPPNL TSNRRLQQTQ AQVDEVVDIM RVNVDKVLER DQKLSELDDR ADALQAGASQ FETSAAKLKR KYWWKNLK Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||
