| Description | Vamp2, also known as Vesicle-associated membrane protein 2, is involved in the targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane. It modulates the gating characteristics of the delayed rectifier voltage-dependent potassium channel KCNB1. Vamp2 proteins localized to the cytoplasmic surface of synaptic vesicle, consists of a proline-rich N-terminal region, a highly conserved hydrophilic domain, followed by a transmembrane anchor and a C-terminal. This proteins also known to mediate cAMP-stimulated exocytosis in nerve cells and in renal cells of the juxtaglomerular apparatus. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-94 from mouse Vamp2, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~12.8kD (118aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF AA Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSHMSATAA TVPPAAPAGE GGPPAPPPNL TSNRRLQQTQ AQVDEVVDIM RVNVDKVLER DQKLSELDDR ADALQAGASQ FETSAAKLKR KYWWKNLK Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||
