| Description | Control Peptide for D9010-07A (affinity purified antibody). Synthetic peptide consisting of 18aa sequence mapping at the N-terminus of human DBH. Dopamine beta hydroxylase (DBH) or Dopamine beta monooxygenase belongs to the copper type II, ascorbate-dependent monooxygenase family. DBH mediates conversion of dopamine to noradrenaline. It requires PQQ, copper and ascorbate for enzyme activity. DBH exists as both in a soluble form (in chromaffin granules) and as membrane bound anchored by its signal peptide. Its activity is enhanced by nerve growth factor, reserpine, acetylcholine and glucocorticoids. There are two known forms of the enzymes: DBH-A and DBH-B, which differ in one position. Human DBH is a 603aa protein (mouse 621aa; rat 620aa, bovine 610aa). DBH also contains a signal peptide that is cleaved in the soluble form. Species Sequence Homology: Mouse, rat and bovine: 83%. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Antibody Blocking. Not suitable for ues in Western Blot due to low molecular weight. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1ug/ml Antibody Blocking: 5-10ug per 1ug D9010-07A (affinity purified antibody). Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
