| Description | Neurotrophin-4 (NT-4/NT-5) is a potent neurotrophic factor that supports the growth and survivability of nerve and/or glial cells. The active form of human NT-4 is a dimer, formed by two identical 130aa subunits. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human Neurotrophin-4, expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependent induction of choline acetyl transferase activity in rat basal forebrain primary septal cell cultures, was found in the range of 20-50ng/ml. Endotoxin: <0.1ng/ug Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
