Description MINA is an oxygenase that can act as both a histone lysine demethylase and a ribosomal histidine hydroxylase. This protein is involved in the demethylation of trimethylated 'Lys-9' on histone H3 (H3K9me3), leading to an increase in ribosomal RNA expression. It also catalyzes the hydroxylation of 60S ribosomal protein L27a on 'His-39'. MINA may play an important role in cell growth and survival. It may be involved in ribosome biogenesis, most likely during the assembly process of pre-ribosomal particles. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-465 from human MINA, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~54.9kD (485aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
