| Description | Leptin is a cytokine found in the adipose tissue of animals (Leptin mRNA is restricted to the adipose tissue). Leptin has been shown to suppress appetite, increase thermogenesis and reduce body weight, food consumption and plasma glucose levels. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human Leptin expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~16.4kD Biological Activity: The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and was found to be <0.5ng/mL. Endotoxin: <1EU/ug (LAL) Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
