| Description | The Mini PAP pen draws a water repellent circle around slide mounted tissue, preventing the waste of valuable reagents by keeping the liquid pooled in a single droplet. The Mini PAP Pen is especially useful when working with multiple sections on a single slide because its tip is smaller than the PAP pen. Each pen can be used to draw about 400 circles. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and fluorescent staining methods. Other applications not tested. Recommended Usage: 1) For Paraffin-embedded sections: - Deparaffinize and rehydrate tissue sections. - Rinse tissue sections with PBS and wipe off excess liquid around the tissue. - Draw a circle on the glass slide around the section with Mini PAP pen. - Dry the circle for 1-2 minutes at RT. - Continue the normal immunohistostaining process. 2) For Frozen sections: - Preclean glass slide. - Coat slide with H5107: HistoGrip (50X concentrate) or other adhesive media (Optional). - Cut and mount tissue sections on the slides. - Rinse tissue sections with PBS and wipe off excess liquid around the tissue. - Draw a circle on the glass slide around the section with Mini PAP pen. - Dry the circle for 1-2 minutes at RT. - Continue the normal immunohistostaining process. Note: The water repellent circle is removable in xylene or xylene substitutes. Since it is not influenced by water soluble media, it will not interfere with microscopic study. Storage and Stability: Store at RT with cap on tight and tip pointed down. Press down on tip when pen starts to dry out. | ||
