Description Control peptide for A3000-90B polyclonal antibody to Aquaporin 12. Water is a critical component of all living cells. Interestingly, tissue membranes show a great degree of water permeability. Mammalian red cells, renal proximal tubules, and descending thin limb of Henle are extraordinarily permeable to water. Water crosses hydrophobic plasma membranes either by simple diffusion or through a facilitative transport mechanism mediated by special protein “aquaporin”, AQP12 (mouse 290aa; human 295aa). Source: Synthetic peptide corresponding to 18aa of human AQP12 (protein accession #Q8IXF9) Molecular Weight: ~3kD Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Antibody Blocking. Not suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 50-100ng control peptide/well Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
