| Description | Apolipoprotein E serves as a ligand for low density receptors and participates in the transport and redistribution of cholesterol and other lipids. Other functions include immunoregulation and cell growth modulation and differentiation. Apo E is thought to be involved in tissue repair as increase amounts of the protein are found at sites or peripheral nerve injury and regeneration. A mutant form is associated with familial type hyperlipoproteinemia. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
