| Description | TRKB is a member of the neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) family. TRKB is the high affinity catalytic receptor for several "neurotrophins", which are small protein growth factors that induce the survival and differentiation of distinct cell populations. TRKB is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signalling through TRKB leads to cell differentiation. Mutations in the TRKB gene have been associated with obesity and mood disorders. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human TRKB, fused to GST-Tag at N-terminal expressed in Insect cells. Molecular Weight: ~67kD Specific Activity: 74nmol/min/mg as per activity assay protocol. Endotoxin: <1EU/ug (LAL) Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||
