| Description | Several subtypes of NPY Receptors have been described of which the cloned Y1-, Y2- and Y5- receptors, members of the superfamily of G-protein coupled receptors, appear to be the endogenous binding sites for NPY. TheY(2) receptor is the predominant Neuropeptide Y (NPY) receptor subtype in the brain. Y(2) receptor-mediated effects have been reported principally based on the observations using the C-terminal fragments of NPY. Recent studies indicate an involvement of the receptor in food intake, gastrointestinal motility, cardiovascular regulation, and neuronal excitability. NPY Y2 Receptor is a 7-transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor N-terminal peptide. This sequence is the extracellular (ecto-domain) portion of the native receptor. Useful in functional studies because the cells do not need to be permeablized for the antibody to bind. Sequence (linear): (C)GAEADENQTVEVKVE-NH2 Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute to nominal volume (see reconstitution instructions for peptides) and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
