| Description | Cholinergic receptor, nicotinic, alpha 6, also known as CHRNA6, belongs to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) family. nAChRs are heteropentameric ligand-gated ion channels resulting from the assembly of alpha and beta protein subunits. This ion channel is gated by the binding of acetylcholine to the assembled receptor. Alpha 6 is often found associated with beta 3, beta 2, and alpha 4 subunits. CHRNA6 receptors have a relatively selective localization to the nigrostriatal pathway where they function to mediate dopamine release. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa26-239 from human CHRNA6 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~29.3kD (250aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
