| Description | RNA binding motif protein 17, also known as RBM17, is splice factor that binds to the single stranded 3'AG at the exon/intron border and promotes its utilization in the second catalytic step. This protein is involved in the regulation of alternative splicing and the utilization of cryptic splice sites. This protein promotes the utilization of a cryptic splice site created by the beta-110 mutation in the HBB gene. The resulting frameshift leads to sickle cell anemia. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-401 from human RBM17, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~47.1kD (421aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
