Description			Myoglobin is a heme containing oxygen carrier that stores oxygen in muscles. It consists of a single polypeptide chain with a molecular weight of 16,000D. Sequence analysis shows that it is structurally related to haemoglobin. Following myocardial infraction myoglobin is lost from cardiac muscle cells and its presence in serum may be used as a diagnostic indicator. Source: Purified myoglobin, human heart. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
