| Description | HP, as known as haptoglobin, is processed to yield both alpha and beta chains, which subsequently combine as a tetramer to produce haptoglobin. In blood plasma, haptoglobin binds free hemoglobin (Hb) released from erythrocytes with high affinity and thereby inhibits its oxidative activity. The haptoglobin-hemoglobin complex will then be removed by the reticuloendothelial system (mostly the spleen). Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa19-347 from human HP protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~39kD (352aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
