| Description | Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein present in exocrine secretions and in the secondary granules of polymorphonuclear neutrophils. It is the iron binding protein in milk. Lactoferrin is known to regulate intestinal iron absorption, and to participate in the defense against bacteria. Source: Lactoferrin, from Human Milk Molecular Weight: ~82.4kD Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
