| Description | MFAP4, also as known as microfibrillar-associated protein 4, belongs to Fibrinogen protein family and contains 1 fibrinogen C-terminal domain. This protein has similarity to a bovine microfibril-associated protein. The protein has binding specificities for both collagen and carbohydrate. It is thought to be an extracellular matrix protein which is involved in cell adhesion or intercellular interactions. Deletion of MFAP4 was found in 30 of 31 patients with Smith-Magenis syndrome (SMS), a clinically recognizable multiple congenital anomaly/mental retardation syndrome. Recombinant human MFAP4 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa22-255 human MFAP4 at N-terminal, fused to His-tag expressed in E.coli.
