Description BMPs (bone morphogenetic proteins) belong to the TGF-b superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. As implied by their name, BMPs promote and regulate bone development, growth, remodeling and repair, in both prenatal development and postnatal growth of eye, heart, kidney, skin, and other tissues. Recombinant human BMP-4 produced from E. coli is a 13kD monomeric, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 116aa residues. Source: Recombinant corresponding to human BMP-4 espressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~13kD Biological Activity: Recombinant human BMP-4 is biologically active. The ED50 as determined by dose-dependent induction of alkaline phosphatase activity with C2C12 cells is in the range of 2-12ug/ml. Endotoxin: ~0.1ng/ug Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
